ABOUT US

Monthly Meetings:

Please come join us as a guest and meet our members.

We hold our monthly meetings at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of the month at American Legion Hall Post 89 in Texas City.

This is who we are:

The Legion Riders Post 89 in Texas City are made up of American Legion, Sons of American Legion, and Auxiliary members. We come together over our love of freedom, strong sense of patriotic duty,  support of our American troops, (past, present and future), as well a love of motorcycling.  We are proud to be a part of the current, 106,000 American Legion Riders that meet in over a thousand chapters in every domestic department and in at least three foreign countries.

American Legion Riders (ALR) are a program of The American Legion.  We are a 501(c) not-for profit veterans service organization and is not a “Motorcycle Club” (MC). We claim no territory or turf. We just ride to serve our veterans.

This is what we do:

We are proud and honored to be among the American Legion Riders chapters that are well known for their charitable work, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local children’s hospitals, schools, veteran’s homes, severely wounded service members and scholarships. Since 2006, Riders nationwide have participated in the Legion Legacy Run, to annually raise money for the Legacy Scholarship Fund, established to provide scholarships to children of U.S. military personnel killed since Sept. 11, 2001.  We ride motorcycles, on two and three wheels with a sidecar thrown in here or there,  and sometimes we ride in cages, (cars, trucks)  What we ride is not important.  It’s why we ride that makes all the difference.
